Minneapolis, MN & Warsaw, Poland — May 07, 2023 — Africa Chamber of Digital Commerce (ACOFDC) and Unsung Heroes Foundation are pleased to announce they have entered into a strategic ecosystem partnership to accelerate humanitarian startup acceleration in Africa.
More than 110 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance because of conflict, climate, or economic shocks, according to the UN’s Global Humanitarian appeal for 2021.
The new partnership between the ACOFDC and Unsung Heroes is focused on stopping global hunger, poverty and injustice leveraging emerging technologies through Acceleration, Incubation and Mentoring of African humanitarian startups. This will be achieved through a humanitarian startup acceleration called the Unsung Heroes Acceleration Program. “In line with the chambers Africa Startup Room (ASR), we are set to identify, select, equip and provide a funding support system to some of the most impactful tech solutions on the continent to accelerate the attainment of the SDGs. Unsung Heroes with ACOFDC are glad to empower startups who will change the world with tech solutions through acceleration and potential collaboration .” says Funmilayo Ogunsanmi-Global Advisory Board Member (ACOFDC).
Unsung Heroes' fully remote humanitarian startup acceleration program runs on an annual cohort basis with a tailored focus on the African humanitarian startup ecosystem (Foodtech & Agro, Agritech, Edtech, Water Systems, Healthtech, Fintech, Transportation, Hygiene Sanitation, Energy, Waste Management) .
Unsung Heroes’ acceleration structure is hands-on, enabling connection and possible partnerships with some of the biggest names and mentors in the humanitarian space.
